You are invited to unlock the secrets of an era when Russian explorers clashed with the indigenous Tlingit people at this truly historic seaport. Hear the saga of October 18, 1867, the day of the infamous transfer of the Alaskan Purchase and Seward’s Folly.

This walking tour is 1 hour in length and led by a guide wearing an 1860s costume to represent the era. The walking terrain includes slight inclines, 10 or less steps at a time, and frequent stops during the walk. This tour is one of the Alaska cruise ships favorite shore excursions! it is a great way to have fun in Sitka while still having time to enjoy the rest of the sights on your visit.
